HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover women's tennis team honored its two seniors during a home exhibition with NCAA Division II Bellarmine (Ky.) Saturday afternoon.

Seniors Ruth Gaston (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Susie Winternheimer (Indianapolis, Ind.) were celebrated for their contributions to the women's tennis program over the past four seasons. Combined, the two have a 59-39 singles record. Gaston is 21-7, while Winternheimer is 38-32. Over the past three-plus seasons, the Panthers have compiled a 59-21 overall record, including a 31-0 mark in HCAC play, four HCAC regular season championships, three HCAC tournament titles and three NCAA National Tournament appearances.

Hanover's lone victory Saturday came in the top doubles spot, where Winternheimer and junior Meghan Farrell (Indianapolis, Ind.) won 7-6. Winternheimer and Farrell each suffered straight set losses in singles play.

Junior Cami Jones (Richmond, Ind.) won eight total singles games over two sets but fell 6-4, 6-4 in the top spot. One of Gaston's last performances at home saw her drop a 6-2 decision at No. 3 doubles with junior Lizzy Katzenberger (Crawfordsville, Ind.) and fall at No. 4 singles as well.

With the match counting as an exhibition for HC, the Panthers still sit with a 12-4 overall record.

Hanover's national tournament preparations will continue with its final scheduled home match of the 2018-19 season on Monday, March 25. The Panthers are slated for a 4 p.m. match against Wittenberg.
