Women's Tennis Blanks Earlham 9-0

RICHMOND, Ind. - The Hanover women's tennis team swept the Earlham College Quakers 9-0 in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action Wednesday afternoon.

The Panthers swept doubles action with ease as senior Meghan Farrell (Indianapolis, Ind.) and senior Lizzy Katzenberger (Crawsfordsville, Ind.) kicked off doubles action with an 8-0 victory.

The success continued at number two doubles where sophomore Sidney Goedeker (Charlestown, Ind.) and freshman Claire Goff (Terre Haute, Ind.) teamed up to sweep the competition, 8-0. 

The Quakers took a forfeit at number three doubles pushing the Blue and Red advantage to 3-0. In singles action, Farrell continued to dominate the competitor as she swept one singles 6-0, 6-0.

Junior Mia Katzenberger followed suit as she swept two singles, 6-0, 6-0. 

Three Singles, saw Goedeker take down the competition 6-2, 6-4 before Goff won 6-0, 6-0 at number four singles to seal the match.

Earlham forfeited five and six singles to give HC the 9-0 victory. 

The Panthers return to action on Thursday, September 19 as they compete at the ITA Central Regional Tournament.
