Panthers Land Five All-HCAC Selections

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The Hanover women's tennis team was honored with five Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference selections after the team's regular season runner-up finish.

Senior Cami Jones (Richmond, Ind.), senior Meghan Farrell (Indianapolis, Ind.) and senior Mia Katzenberger (Crawfordsville, Ind.) highlighted the Panther awards earning first team honors, while teammates junior Haley Parker (Leo, Ind.) and senior Lizzy Katzenberger (Crawfordsville, Ind.) garnered honorable mention accolades.

Jones posted a 4-4 overall record at No. 1 singles, including three wins against HCAC opponents. The senior went 5-2 overall at No. 1 doubles, with four wins coming in league action. Jones and Farrell teamed up for much of the season at No. 1 doubles with the duo going a combined 5-2 overall.

Farrell posted an unblemished singles record going a perfect 6-0 at No. 2 singles, with a 1-0 record at No. 1 singles. The senior appeared in all of the team's double matches, going 6-3 overall at No. 1 doubles. She posted a 5-2 conference record, including a key regular season victory against Transylvania.

Mia Katzenberger registered perfect play in singles action with an 8-0 overall record, including a 5-0 record at No. 4 singles. In doubles action, the senior primarily played with teammate Parker at No.3 doubles posting a 5-1 record. Katzenberger finished the year with an 8-1 overall doubles record.

Teammate, Lizzy Katzenberger wrapped up conference action as the Panthers primary No. 3 singles player and No. 2 doubles contender. The senior teamed up with sophomore Maddie Shannon (Anderson, Ind.) for a 4-3 overall record at No. 2 doubles and a 1-0 record in the No. 1 spot.

At No. 5 singles, Parker dealt clutch posting a perfect record, including a 6-0, 6-0 victory against Rose-Hulman. The junior also dominated No. 3 doubles with teammate senior Mia Katzenberger (Crawfordsville, Ind.)  who combined for a 6-1 overall record, with five victories coming at No. 3 doubles. The duo also tallied three perfect 8-0 victories, with two sweeps coming against HCAC opponents.

Hanover will return to the courts on Saturday, Feburary 15 as they take on Sewanee.
