HANOVER, Ind. – For the first time in program history, the Hanover College women's track & field program will be sending multiple athletes to the NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships, as senior Erin Trimpe (New Palestine, Ind.) and sophomore Erin Browning (Greensburg, Ind.) each qualified for the meet in the pole vault and hammer throw, respectively.

The NCAA officially released its participants for this spring's event on the morning of Saturday, May 18. The Panther women will have at least one athlete competing at the outdoor nationals for the third consecutive year and become the fourth and fifth NCAA Division III national-level outdoor competitors for HC.

Trimpe will be making her second straight appearance after placing 10th at last season's national championships. As a junior, Trimpe cleared a then school record 3.72m to qualify for nationals and logged a height of 3.65m at the championships for the highest finish in school history for a field event. This season, the senior ranks among the top 20 nationally after clearing a school-record height of 3.77m at the Ohio Wesleyan Great Lakes Final Qualifier on Thursday, May 16.

Browning will be appearing at her first national championships during her brief collegiate career. The sophomore, who was named 2019 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference field athlete of the year earlier this spring, cleared 47m in all eight hammer throw outings. Browning's best toss, 51.93m, is currently the school-record attempt and places her 22nd in Division III.

The 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor National Championships, hosted by Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, will take place in Geneva, Ohio, at the SPIRE Institute. The three-day meet will span from Thursday, May 23, through Saturday, May 25.
