HANOVER, Ind. – After a 2019 campaign that saw the Panthers claim second place in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Indoor Championships, Hanover has been picked to win this year's title voted on by the league's coaches.
The Blue and Red garnered 95 total points in the poll including five first place votes. Rose-Hulman was projected second with 90 overall points and four first place votes followed by Manchester with 80 points and the last first place bid.
Earlham was the other HCAC leading prediction finishing fourth with 64 points. Rounding out the poll was Bluffton (57), Transylvania (46), Anderson (43), Franklin (30), Mt. St. Joseph (28), and Defiance (12).
With the first-place nod, the Panthers have now been chosen to finish third or better in each of the past six seasons including first place finishes during the 2013 and 2012 season. The Blue and Red have had no shortage of success since this time winning two straight titles in 2012 and 2013, and most recent victory coming in 2017.
Hanover will open the indoor season on Friday, January 17 with a trip to Rose-Hulman for the Friday Night Spikes Invitational.
