ADA, Ohio – The Hanover women's track and field team registered another strong performance as part of the Joe Banks Invitational on Saturday hosted by Ohio Northern University.
Freshman Zaleeya Martin (Shlebyville, Ind.) continued to make strides in the 60-meter dash as her prelim time of 8.05 seconds moved her into second all-time among the Hanover top ten list. The freshman finished seventh overall in the event.
Senior Kenna Hunter (Mooresville, Ind.) deemed clutch in the meet as she claimed top 10 finishes in three separate events. On the track, the senior took third in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.93 before transitioning to the field events with a third-place mark in the high jump and a 10th place finish in the long jump.
Sophomore Arig Tong (Columbus, Ind.) continued her successfully upward trend as she moved into fourth all-time among the Hanover top ten in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 10:43.17, finishing fourth overall in the 28-runner field.
In the weight throw, sophomore Mariah Grider (North Vernon, Ind.) tallied a personal best with a toss of 14.23-meters finishing fifth overall in the 38-thrower field.
The success among the field events continued for the Blue and Red as junior Emily Jones (Pendleton, Ind.) hit a personal best in the pole vault with a height of 3.05 meters that landed her eighth in the meet.
Sophomore Sawyer Osman (Fishers, Ind.) also registered a personal best for Hanover as she took 10th overall in the 800-meter run with a season-best time of 2:32.34.
The Panthers return to action on Friday, February 7 as they compete as part of the Small College Classic.
