HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover College volleyball team picked up a conference win on Homecoming on Saturday evening, in dominating fashion, defeating Defiance College (Ohio) in three straight sets (25-16, 25-13, 25-12).

The Panthers came out on fire in each of the three sets, starting the first with a 9-3 lead. In the second set, Hanover scored the first five points to establish another demanding tone. In set three, it was a 9-1 start for the Blue and Red. Hanover never trailed in the match.

As a team, the Panthers hit 0.329, their third-highest hitting percentage in a match this season. The team has now hit above 0.300 in three of its last five matches.

Junior Claire Dennis led Hanover with 11 kills. The junior also led the team on the defensive side of the net, being a part of five of the team's six blocks.

As a team, Hanover also forced the Yellow Jackets to a -0.023 hitting percentage. Defiance's hitting mark was the second-lowest percentage allowed by a Hanover defense this season. In the last six matches, the Panthers have forced each of their opponents to hit below 0.140.

Junior Margo Main chipped in nine kills with a .571 hitting percentage for HC. Senior Monique Huynh totaled 15 digs, with sophomore Ally Williams adding 10 digs.

After dropping back-to-back matches in late September, Hanover has now won six matches in a row, to advance to 17-5 on the season, and 5-0 in the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference.

The Panthers will prepare for a tri-match on Monday evening at Spalding University (Ky.). Hanover will play Blackburn (Ill.) in the first match, before finishing the night against the host Golden Eagles. HC will then get back into conference play on Wednesday night at 7:00 p.m., when they host Earlham College.
