Panthers to travel to Atlanta for Regional Rounds of NCAA Tournament

Team celebrating after a victory

HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover volleyball team will return to the NCAA Division III National Tournament for the first time in 10 years, and will travel to Atlanta, Ga. to do so.

The Panthers (26-5), who earned the HCAC's automatic berth after winning the league tournament championship this past weekend, will square off with Berry (Ga.), out of the Southern Athletic Association, in the opening round. The Vikings are currently receiving votes in the AVCA National Top 25 poll.

The Emory-hosted regional will be held Thursday, Nov. 9 through Saturday, Nov. 11. To go along with Hanover, the eight-team pod includes No. 7 Emory, No. 23 Christopher Newport (Va.), Berry (Ga.), Birmingham-Southern (Ala.), Covenant (Ga.), Thomas More (Ky.) and Worchester State (Mass.).

Hanover and Berry last met during the 2016 season, as the Panthers defeated the Vikings in a neutral-site contest, 3-0 (25-19, 25-18. 25-23).

The Panthers will be searching for their first NCAA National Tournament victory, as their only other appearance came in 2007, when the team fell to Washington (Mo.) on the campus of Carthage (Wis.).
