HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover College and the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference has announced the 2021 volleyball schedule. The Panthers will house an 18-match schedule taking on the nine conference opponents in a double-header format with the first contest affecting the team's overall conference record.
The Hanover volleyball team is coming off a 2019 campaign that saw them go 18-11 overall, with a 7-2 mark in HCAC action. Concluding the season, the Panthers landed four student-athletes on the All-Conference list and advanced to the semi-finals of the HCAC Tournament.
The season is set to open on Saturday, January 23 when Hanover welcomes Defiance to Collier Arena. The Blue and Red currently hold a 12-game win streak at home dating back to the 2018 season.
The Panthers road portion of the schedule opens on Wednesday, January 27 when they travel to Mt. St. Joseph before heading north to Manchester on Saturday, January 30 to take on the Spartans.
Hanover welcomes Transylvania University on Tuesday, February 2 before playing host to the Beavers of Bluffton University on Friday, February 5. The 2019 campaign saw the Panthers defeat Bluffton in a five-set thriller claiming the final set by a 15-8 margin.
The conference schedule continues with a trip to Richmond, Ind. on Wednesday, February 10 to take on Earlham before playing host to Rose-Hulman on Saturday, February 13. The season concludes with a trip to area-rival Franklin on Tuesday, February 16 followed by a road match at Anderson on Saturday, February 20.
