Women harriers to open 2017 season with Hanover Invitational

HANOVER, Ind. – The 2017 season is upon us as the Hanover women's cross country team will host the Hanover Invitational to begin the year Saturday, Sept. 2.

The Panthers finished fourth in last year's home meet as their top five runners finished in the top 22 of 62 total runners.

Of their top five runners from that meet, three are back this year and will look to move up. Sophomore Julianna Delano (Greencastle, Ind.) was the second Hanover runner across the line. Delano placed 22nd overall with a time of 26:51.70.

A pair of current juniors in Morgan Hamilton (Centerville, Ind.) and Amanda Stump (Garrett, Ind.) rounded out the top five for the Panthers by finishing back-to-back in 27th and 28th places respectively. Hamilton crossed the line in 27:38.90, while Stump followed with a time of 27:52.90.

The 5k meet is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. on the team's home course.
