Panthers conclude season at NCAA Great Lakes Regional

POWELL, Ohio – The Hanover women's cross country team concluded its season Saturday afternoon, competing in the NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan.

The Panthers were led by sophomore Ariel Barlow (Francesville, Ind.), who posted her second fastest six-kilometer time of the fall at 25:42.7. The sophomore finished in 154th place in the field of 247 runners. Classmate Amanda Stump (Garrett, Ind.) also ran her second fastest 6K time of the season, crossing the finish line at 26:19.8.

In just her second appearance of the fall, sophomore Morgan West (Connersville, Ind.) clocked in at 29:49.0, improving by close to 30 seconds from her HCAC Championship run.

Rounding out the participation for Hanover were junior Hannah Miller (Madison, Ind.) and sophomore Madison VanWinkle (Moores Hill, Ind.). The duo recorded times of 30:37.0 and 32:44.9, respectively.

Hanover finished with 1,008 points, logging a 33rd place team finish. Hope (Mich.) won the team regional championship with five individuals inside the top 25. Linnea Halsten of Oberlin (Ohio) was the first individual to cross the finish line, clocking in at 21:37.3.

The Panthers have now concluded the 2017 cross country season, with many runners now preparing for the indoor track & field season. The Blue and Red won the HCAC indoor and outdoor championships last year.
