HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's and women's cross country programs announced their schedule for the upcoming fall Thursday afternoon, July 5.

Leading the Hanover long-distance runners for the second straight year, head coach Brady Wells has prepared the Panthers with six meets in 2018 and possibly seven with the ability to qualify for the NCAA Division III National Championships in mid-November.

After a successful stint in Year One under Wells, the Blue and Red are slated to open the season at home for the second consecutive year, with the Hanover Invitational scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 1. The men will be in search of their third consecutive team victory at the Hanover Invitational, while rising senior, Jacob Hedrick (Memphis, Ind.), will look to defend his individual title.

Also of note during the month of September will be the Greater Louisville Classic, a regular stop on the Panthers' annual fall tour. Hanover's men earned the three top 25 finishes for the first time in program history last fall, placing sixth, while the women are just a few years removed from a seventh-place team finish at the highly participated meet.

The Panthers then follow the southern trip with a trek to Wilmington, Ohio for the annual Jenna Strong Fall Classic on Oct. 12, a meet which has seen both programs enjoy success at. Each team has posted a top 10 finish in the past three seasons for an invite that regularly includes 30-plus teams.

The end of October will begin the championship portion of the cross country schedules, as the HCAC Championships kick off the slate on Oct. 27. The NCAA Division III Great Lakes Regional Championships will follow on Nov. 10, with both meets scheduled to take place in Shelbyville, Ind. at Blue River Park. The men are coming off one of their best performances at the conference meet last fall, finishing second overall. Despite a sixth place finish in 2017, the women have usually found success at the Heartland meet, earning top three finishes in seven of the past eight years.
