Hanover women to face nationally ranked competition

Women's team running

HANOVER, Ind. – After their first overall team victory in nearly four years, the Hanover College women's cross country team will travel to Otterbein University in Westerville, Ohio to compete against nationally ranked competition this weekend.

The 2018 Otterbein Invitational will take place on Sept. 15 and feature seven different teams including the hosting Otterbein Cardinals who are ranked second in the Great Lakes Region coaches' poll.

The Cardinals boast the top five returners from last year's meet, but poised to break up their pack is freshman Arig Tong (Columbus, Ind.). Tong is coming off her first collegiate victory in the Hanover Invitational and will look to continue her winning ways here.

Following Tong at Hanover was junior Ariel Barlow (Francesville, Ind.) along with a solid pack of freshmen including Brianna Medcalf (Central, Ind.) and Zoe Adams (Louisville, Ky).

One other freshman, Sawyer Osmun (Fishers, Ind.) will look to finish out the scoring for the Red and Blue along with her senior teammate Amanda Stump (Garrett, Ind.).

The women's race will follow the men's at approximately 11:30 a.m.
