Women's cross country places two in top-25

Westerville, Oh. – Freshman teammates Arig Tong (Columbus, Ind.) and Zoe Adams (Louisville, Ky.) earned all-meet honors as the Hanover women's cross country team placed third overall at the 2018 Otterbein Invitational.

Tong, who was running the first six-kilometer race of her career, placed fourth overall with a time of 23:59.8. This time was good for 16th all-time in Hanover school history and was the fastest time at the distance since 2014.

Adams too turned in a lifetime best at the distance, moving up throughout the race, and running 26:24.0 for 21st overall.

The Panthers finished out their scoring with top-40 performances from Senior Amanda Stump (Garrett, Ind.), Junior Caitlyn Naghdi (Carmel, Ind.), and Freshman Sawyer Osmun (Fishers, Ind.).

Junior Madison VanWinkle (Moores Hill, Ind.) also ran a personal best with a time of 30:21.2.

The host Otterbein Cardinals, ranked top-20 in the nation, won the meet with a team score of 27 points. Otterbein Senior and multi-time All-American, Claire Lamb, took individual honors in a time of 23:23.2.

The red and blue will next race at the Greater Louisville Classic in Louisville, Ky. on Saturday, Sept. 29.
