Louisville, Ky. – A bevy of season and lifetime bests led the Hanover women's cross country team to a 14th place showing at the 43-team Greater Louisville Classic.
Freshman Arig Tong (Columbus, Ohio) led the team with a sixth place finish, less than 30-seconds behind eventual winner Alyssa Campbell of Point Park (Pa.). Tong's time of 19:04.0 places her seventh all-time in Hanover College history for the five-kilometer event.
Following Tong were a pair of personal-bests from junior Ariel Barlow (Francesville, Ind.) and senior Amanda Stump (Garrett, Ind.). Barlow finished in 66th with a time of 20:31.3, and Stump placed 90th with a time of 20:52.8.
The final two scorers for the red and blue also turned in impressive season-best times. Freshman Zoe Adams (Louisville, Ky.) was 114th in a time of 21:10.8 while senior Morgan Hamilton (Connersville, Ind.) was 12 spots back in a time of 21:19.3.
The Panthers were the second HCAC school at the event behind the Manchester Spartans who finished sixth.
Next up for the Red and Blue will be the #JennaStrong Invite on Oct. 12. The meet will be held on the campus of Wilmington College in Wilmington, Ohio.
