Women's Cross Country Opens 2019 Season on the Road

HANOVER, Ind. – The women's cross country team hits the road for their 2019 season opener. The Panthers will travel to Franklin for the Grizzly Invite.

Sophomore Arig Tong (Columbus, Ind.) will look to pace the way for the Blue and Red after being named the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Freshman of the Year for her runner-up performance in the 2018 HCAC Championships.

As a team, the Panthers captured a fourth-place finish and will look to remain among the league's best in 2019. The Blue and Red were projected a top five finish as part of the HCAC Preseason Poll.

Joining Tong this season are HCAC runners to watch Ariel Barlow (Francesville, Ind.), Brianna Medcalf (Central, Ind.), and Caitlyn Naghdi (Carmel, Ind.).

The season opening race will be held at Blue River Park, the home course of the Franklin Grizzlies, with the first race set for 10:00 a.m.
