Tong Leads Women's Cross Country in a Competitive John McNichols Invite

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – The Hanover cross country team traveled to Terre Haute, Ind. to compete in the very competitive John McNichols Invitational featuring competitors from Division I, II, and III.

Sophomore Arig Tong (Columbus, Ind.) posted a strong finish for the Blue and Red as she was just the second Division III runner in a 174-runner field to cross the finish line with a season-best time of 19:25.3. The time earned her a 109th place finish overall and second place finish among Division III competitors.

Senior Ariel Barlow (Francesville, Ind.) was the next Panther to cross the finish line over the five-kilometer course with a time of 20:07.2, finishing 137th overall. Sophomore Brianna Medcalf (Central, Ind.) followed Barlow across the line in 144th place with a time of 20:16.8.

Freshman Leah Anders (Rising Sun, Ind.) rounded out the field for the Blue and Red in 156th with a time of 20:55.4.

As a team, the Blue and Red finished 15th overall in the 21 team field.

The Panthers return to action on Saturday, October 5 as they travel to Louisville, Ky. for the Greater Louisville Classic.
