HANOVER, Ind. – The women's cross country team continues to make strong strides in preparation for the 2019 HCAC Championship meet.
The race will take place on Sunday, November 3 in Terre haute, Ind.
Sophomore Arig Tong (Columbus, Ind.) will look to continue her impressive career after earning all-HCAC honors a season ago. The sophomore finished runner-up and was named the HCAC Freshman of the Year, while also earning a spot in the NCAA Division III National meet for her performance as part of the regional qualifier. Tong ran her strongest race to date improving on her second-place ranking among HC greats two weeks ago as part of the Inter-Regional Rumble.
Senior Caitlyn Naghdi (Carmel, Ind.) moved into the top 20 with a strong finish as part of the Inter-Regional Rumble, while teammate sophomore Brianna Medcalf (Central, Ind.) also improved on her 6K time, running a career best 23:03.
Sophomores Sawyer Osmun (Fishers, Ind.) and Maddie McHugh (Coatesville, Ind.) will look to be in contention to round out the scoring for the Blue and Red as they posted competitive times in the team's last outing.
In a pre-season edition of the coaches' poll, Hanover were slated to finish fourth while Manchester claimed the top spot with 74 points and five first place votes.
The race, hosted by Rose-Hulman, will be held at LaVern Gibson Corss Country Course in Terre Haute, Ind. and is set to begin at 1 pm, following the men's race.
