HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover women's cross-country team ran a dominant race this past weekend finishing second overall as part of the third virtual race for the 2020 season. Juniors Arig Tong (Columbus, Ind. / Columbus North) and Brianna Medcalf (Central, Ind. / Corydon Central) dominated the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference competition as they finished first and second overall.
Rose-Hulman claimed the team title with 42 points, while Hanover claimed second with 47 points. Manchester took third overall with 81 points followed by Franklin in fourth place with 101 points, Transylvania in fifth place with 117 points, Bluffton in sixth place with 144 points, and Anderson in seventh place with 145 points.
Tong claimed her second overall victory of the 2020 virtual season with a winning time of 5:21.8. Teammate, Medcalf followed her across the finish line with her best finish of the season in a time of 5:31.8.
Junior Sawyer Osmun (Fishers, Ind. / Fishers) also claimed a top-five mark, finishing fourth overall with a time of 5:39.7. Teammate, sophomore Lean Anders (Rising Sun, Ind. / Switzerland County) finished 11th overall in a time of 5:49.8.
Rounding out the field for the Blue and Red was sophomore Alexis Gurr (Charlestown, Ind. / Charlestown) finishing 30th overall in the 63 runner field with a time of 6:16.8.
