Tale of Two Halves Sink Panthers on the Road

Box Score

ADA, Ohio – The Hanover men's soccer team traveled north to take on the Ohio Northern Polar Bears where the Panthers dropped a tough non-conference game, 2-0.

The Blue and Red (2-3-0 overall) registered six shots in the contest, led by junior Josh Hughes (Lafayette, La.) with a team-high two shots.

The Panthers looked to strike first early in the first half as senior Brady Gesenhues (Fort Thomas, Ky.) fired off a shot for the bottom left corner of the net that was deflected by the ONU defense. They would get one more shot before time expired in the first half as junior Nicholas Ash (Louisville, Ky.) missed high.

The second half would be a tale of two halves as the Polar Bears scored early with a goal in the 49th minute before delivering another blow in the 61st minute that propelled ONU to the 2-0 lead.

In frame, junior Aaron Stocksdale (Louisville, Ky.) got the call playing a full 90 minutes with two saves.

The Blue and Red return to action on Saturday, September 21 as they welcome Ohio Wesleyan to the pitch. Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m.
