HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover women's basketball team is set to take on Manchester twice this week following a late schedule change. The Panthers will head to North Manchester, Ind. on Thursday, January 14, at 4 PM before welcoming the Spartans to Collier Arena on Saturday, January 16, at 2 PM.
WE MEET AGAIN: The Panthers and Spartans went toe-to-toe in the non-conference season opener last week with Hanover claiming the 69-65 victory. Leading the charge for the Blue and Red was senior
Savannah Courtney (Lawrenceburg, Ky. / Franklin County) and freshman
Addie Gardner (Anderson, Ind. / Frankton). The duo recorded double-digit scoring with Courtney tying a game-high 15 points, while Gardner chipped in 11 points. Freshman
Skylar Sahatjian (Prospect, Ky. / South Oldham) also found success in the contest netting eight points.
THROWBACK: With the win last week, Hanover increased its win streak against the Spartans to 10 games dating back to the 2016 season. They currently hold a 10-1 record at home, while bolstering a 9-2 road record.
HOME SWEET HOME: The Panthers are a force to be reckoned with when playing within the confines of Collier Arena. The 2019-20 campaign saw the Blue and Red post a perfect 9-0 record at home including a 64-57 victory over the no. 9 ranked Transylvania Pioneers. Hanover would go on to win the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season title later that year and advance to the HCAC Championship match-up.
WHAT'S NEXT: Hanover will return to the court on Thursday, Jan. 21, when they travel to Terre Haute, Ind. to take on Rose-Hulman before welcoming the Engineers on Saturday, Jan. 23.
