Savannah Courtney (Lawrenceburg, Ky.).
Hanover was led in the contest by Courtney with a game-high 13 rebounds and 11 points.
The opening half saw the Panthers surge ahead early as junior
Lexi Riggles (Danville, Ind.) delivered a three-pointer at the 7:27 mark that put HC in front 7-5. However, the Ravens continued to hang around taking the lead minutes later off back-to-back scores, 14-9. The excitement didn't last long for the Ravens as the Panthers closed out the opening stanza with a 9-0 run to claim the 18-14 advantage.
Anderson rallied in the second period regaining the 19-18 lead when another Panther run capped off by a Riggles three-pointer propelled the Blue and Red back in front. They carried the momentum into the break as freshman
Skylar Sahatjian (Prospect, Ky.) delivered the final blow from deep to send Hanover into the half with the 31-25 lead.
The second half, Hanover extended the difference as back-to-back scores by junior
Lanette Blume (St. Anthony, Ind.) pushed the Panther out in front 37-27. But Anderson responded closing out the third period with a pair of jumpers to enter the final stanza trialing 37-31.
Hanover secured the contest at the free throw line in the fourth quarter as Courtney deemed clutch down the stretch. The senior netted her final bucket of the regular season with 34 seconds remaining to help send HC to the 53-45 victory.
The contest concluded the regular season for the Panthers and they will await the HCAC Tournament draw to be announced Sunday at 8:00 PM.
