HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's soccer team will look to pick up a pair of victories this week as they travel to Transylvania on Wednesday and welcome Defiance on Sunday.
LAST WEEK: Hanover posted a perfect 2-0-0 overall week defeating Earlham 2-0 followed by Anderson 4-1. In the contest with the Quakers, senior
Josh Hughes (Lafayette, La.) paced the field with a game-high nine shots and a goal. Teammate, senior
Ian Waldrop (Louisville, Ky.) tallied three shots and a goal.
Wladrop carried the momentum into the weekend as he found a pair of goals to propel the Panthers past Anderson. Hughes added a goal and an assist, while junior Felipe Busato (Sao Paulo, Brazil) netted his first goal of the season.
INSIDE THE STATS: Hanover is currently averaging 3.00 goals per contest while pelting the frame with 22.5 shots per outing. They have registered a .133 shot percentage with six total goals. Waldrop is leading the charge with a team-high three goals while Hughes is nipping at his heals with two goals.
THE PIONEERS: The last time these two teams met Hanover staged a second half comeback to claim the 2-1 victory. Transylvania currently leads the series 4-7-2 dating back to the 2010 campaign. During that time, the largest margin of victory has come by way of one goal.
WELCOMING THE YELLOW JACKETS: Hanover currently holds a six game win streak over the Yellow Jackets including last season's 2-0 road victory. The last time Defiance defeated the Panthers was in 2013 when they knocked of Hanover 1-0 at the Soccer Complex.
