Box Score LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Hanover men's soccer team fell in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action Wednesday evening at Transylvania. The Panthers dropped the match, 2-0 and move to 2-1 overall on the year.
Hanover fired a game-high 13 shots, with four landing on frame.
The opening stanza saw Transylvania strike first at the 7:51 minute mark to take the 1-0 lead. The Panthers looked for the equalizer with 19 minutes remaining before the half as senior
Josh Hughes (Lafayette, La.) delivered back-to-back shots that were saved by the Pioneer defensive front.
Junior
Fellipe Busato (Sao Paulo, Brazil) registered one final attempt at the game tying goal in the first half as he sent a shot on frame that was saved by the Transylvania keeper.
The second half would see the Pioneers deliver the game's final blow at the 51-minute mark for the HCAC win, 2-0.
In goal, senior
Will Bedel (Walton, Ky.) charted one save, while the Panther defense held the Pioneers to just five shots.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday, March 14 when they play host to Defiance. Game time is set for 3:30 PM.
