Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's soccer team wrapped up the 2021 spring regular season on Wednesday afternoon, defeating Mt .St. Joseph 6-1. The Panthers finish the regular season at 7-1-1 overall. They return to action next week as they compete as part of the HCAC Tournament.
Hanover wasted little time finding the back of the net as junior
Fellipe Busato (Sao Paulo, Brazil) found junior
Luke Eppler (Evansville, Ind.) in the 22
nd minute for the 1-0 advantage.
The Panthers tacked on another score moments later as senior
Josh Hughes (Lafayette, La.) connected for his eighth goal of the season pushing the first half difference to 2-0.
The scoring outburst continued as freshman
Scott Zehnder (Louisville, Ky.) connected for a goal in the 32
nd minute giving Hanover the 3-0 lead. Busato provided the final strike of the half in the 36
th minute as he blew the game wide open.
The Panthers finished the first half with 16 shots, 10 of which landed on frame.
The Lions looked to get something going in the second half as they were able to record a goal in the 55
th minute but it wasn't enough as Hanover tacked on two more scores en route to the 6-1 victory.
The Panthers were paced in the contest by Busato with two goals on five shots, four of which landed on frame.
