HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover women's basketball team advances to the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tournament Championship for the second consecutive season taking on Transylvania. Tip-off from Lexington, Ky. on Wednesday, March 10 is scheduled for 5:00 PM.
 
HANOVER IN THE HCAC TOURNAMENT: In the last seven seasons, Hanover has advanced to the championship three times, including back-to-back appearances in 2019-2020 and 2020-2021. Last season saw the Panthers compete for an HCAC Tournament title, where they dropped a hard-fought battle with the Pioneers of Transylvania.
 
WIN STREAK: The Panthers enter the match-up riding a five game win streak dating back to February 14 when they dropped a tough road contest at Transylvania. During the streak, the Panthers have built momentum defeating Rose-Hulman, Earlham, and MSJ as part of their HCAC Tournament run. In the team's latest victory against the Lions, Hanover was paced by senior Savannah Courtney (Lawrenceburg, Ky.) with a team-high 13 points and eight rebounds. Freshman Maddi Sear (Carmel, Ind.) chipped in 11 points, while teammate sophomore Keaton Chastain (Paoli, Ind.) added 10 points.
 
STATISTICALLY SPEAKING: The Panther offense ranks as one of the best scoring fronts in the conference averaging 66.4 points per game. Leading the charge is Courtney at 14.2 ppg, followed by junior Liz Tynan (Columbus, Ind.) at 8.2 ppg. Hanover tends to use their defense to fuel their offense, ranking as the best team in the HCAC in turnover margin at 6.83. The next closes team sets at 2.00.
