Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's soccer team used a first half surge to propel them in a 1-1 draw with no. 10 ranked Kenyon on Saturday afternoon.
Hanover was led in the contest by senior
Josh Hughes (Lafayette, La.) with a team-best four shots, one of which landed on frame. Senior
Fellipe Busato (Sao Paulo, Brazil) provided the Panthers only goal of the afternoon, registering three total shots.
The first half saw the Panthers pack the box early preventing Kenyon from setting up an attack. The Blue and Red continued to wait for their chance as Busato delivered in the 32
nd minute beating the Lords backline for the go-ahead goal, 1-0.
However, Kenyon continued their aggressive style attacking the box with little success. But the bright spot would come midway through the second half as a Panther miscue gave Kenyon a penalty kick that knotted the contest at 1-1.
The contest would go on to end in a draw as neither team was able to find the net in extra time.
Sophomore
Luciano Salemi (Indianapolis, Ind.) posted an impressive day in frame recording six saves.
Hanover returns to action on Sunday, Sept. 5 when they welcome Otterbein to the Soccer Complex. Game time is set for 5 PM.
