Box Score ANDERSON, Ind. – The Hanover men's soccer team (7-4-3 overall, 5-0-1 HCAC) found themselves in a tight battle at Anderson in Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday afternoon. A second half outburst lifted them to the 3-1 victory.
Leading the Panther charge was sophomore
Joao Domenici (Alphaville, Brazil) with a game-high two goals.
Anderson claimed the early lead as they were able to navigate the Panther back line for the 1-0 lead just six minutes into the contest.
However, Hanover got the equalizer with just over 10 minutes to play in the opening half as senior
Fernando Martin (Sao Jose Do Rio Preto, Brazil) played a ball from freshman
Alex Farias (Louisville, Ky.) for the tying blow, 1-1.
The Blue and Red would finally get the go-ahead goal in the in the 75
th minute as
Joao Domenici connected on a penalty kick that propelled Hanover to the 2-1 lead.
The assault on net continued as Domenici collected his second goal of the afternoon moments later lifting Hanover to the HCAC victory, 3-1.
The Panthers return to action on Wednesday, Oct. 19 when they welcome Mt. St. Joseph.
