Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Panther men's soccer team (5-4-3 overall, 3-0-1 HCAC) picked up a chippy Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory on Saturday afternoon over Defiance, 1-0.
The Panthers lone goal was scored by senior
Brendan Gallagher (Louisville, Ky.) who also added two shots. As a unit, Hanover finished with a game high 23 shots on the pitch.
Hanover found the go-ahead goal late in the first half as Gallagher beat the Yellow Jacket defense for the 1-0 advantage.
The Panthers entered the half with the 10-3 shot differential.
The second half saw Hanover continue to apply pressure as senior
Coghlin Kumler (Indianapolis, Ind.) fired a ball that hit the right woodwork.
The Blue and Red made one final push as Gallagher put the Panthers final attempt on frame in the 85
th minute that was saved by the Defiance keeper.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 12 when they travel to Franklin. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
