Box Score HANOVER, Ind. – The Panther men's soccer team (5-4-3 overall, 3-0-1 HCAC) picked up a chippy Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference victory on Saturday afternoon over Defiance, 1-0.
 
The Panthers lone goal was scored by senior Brendan Gallagher (Louisville, Ky.) who also added two shots. As a unit, Hanover finished with a game high 23 shots on the pitch.
 
Hanover found the go-ahead goal late in the first half as Gallagher beat the Yellow Jacket defense for the 1-0 advantage.
 
The Panthers entered the half with the 10-3 shot differential.
 
The second half saw Hanover continue to apply pressure as senior Coghlin Kumler (Indianapolis, Ind.) fired a ball that hit the right woodwork.
 
The Blue and Red made one final push as Gallagher put the Panthers final attempt on frame in the 85^th minute that was saved by the Defiance keeper.
 
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Oct. 12 when they travel to Franklin. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
