HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Hanover Panthers wrapped up their winter break trip with a dominating victory over Saint Vincent, 9-0.
Hanover opened the match sweeping doubles action with the team of junior
Connor Garrison (Louisville, Ky.) and senior
Pablo Gallart (Serra, Spain) pacing the way with an 8-3 victory at no. 2 doubles.
Sophomore
Jedrek Brodzki (Warsaw, Polamnd) and sophomore
Joey Keal (Louisville, Ky.) captured no. 1 doubles 8-5 while teammates freshman
Charley Williams (Jeffersonville, Ind.) and freshman
Alberto Castillo (Pozuelo De Alarcon, Spain) also claimed the 8-5 win as part of no. 3 doubles.
The success carried into singles action with Keal winning no. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0. Gallart took his no. 2 singles match 6-0, 6-1.
At no. 3 singles, Brodzki captured an exciting win claiming the tie break set 1-0 (10-7). Sophomore
Luke Kroeger (Springfield, Tenn.) topped his opponent at no. 4 singles 6-2, 6-2 before Williams claimed his match 6-4, 7-6 (7-3).
The Panthers final win came at no. 6 singles as freshman
Tyler Brunty (Crawfordsville, Ind.) won in dramatic fashion 2-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-4).
The Blue and Red return to action on Saturday, March 5 playing host to Centre. Match time is set for noon.
