HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's tennis team celebrated senior day with a victory over Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference foe Anderson on Saturday afternoon. The Panthers claimed the win 8-1.
Leading the charge in doubles action was the no. 1 team of sophomore
Joey Keal (Louisville, Ky.) and senior
Connor Garrison (Louisville, Ky.) winning their match 8-3.
The no. 2 doubles team of senior
Pablo Gallart (Serra, Spain) and freshman
Pedro Macedo (Petropolis, Brazil) also picked up a victory winning their match 8-6 while the team of junior
Jedrek Brodzki (Warsaaw, Poland) and freshman
Charley Williams (Jeffersonville, Ind.) swept doubles play 8-3.
In singles play, Gallart dominated his no. 1 match 6-1, 6-3 while doubles partner Macedo swept no. 5 singles 6-0, 6-0.
Keal claimed no. 2 singles 6-3, 6-2 with Brodzki winning no. 3 singles in dramatic fashion 4-6, 6-3, 10-6.
Rounding out the afternoon for the Blue and Red was Garrison at no. 4 singles claiming his match 7-5, 6-4.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, April 30 when they compete at Manchester. First serve is set for 12 PM.
