The Panthers struck first in HCAC action at Transylvania

LEXINGTON, Ky. – The Panthers demonstrated early success in the contest at Transylvania before falling unsuccessfully in Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference action 14-5.

Hanover used a balance attack getting goals by five separate student-athletes, including HCLC offensive Player of the Week, senior Anne Breeding (Miamisburg, Ohio).

Senior Delaney Benner (Indianapolis, Ind.) picked up an impressive performance with 20 saves through 60 minutes in frame.

The Blue and Red set the tone from the opening face-off netting the first two goals before the Pioneers were able to respond at the 2:44 mark in the first frame.

Transylvania responded with a 10-goal outburst that saw them surge to the 10-2 lead with just under 11 minutes remaining.

Hanover attempted to rally as sophomore Taylor McNally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.) and sophomore Masi McNally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.) hit back-to-back blows halting the charge, 11-4.

The final Panther strike came from the stick of Breeding before the Blue and Red ultimately fell to the Pioneers 14-5.
