NICHOLSVILLE, Ky. – The Hanover Panthers competed as part of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship taking on Rose-Hulman. The Blue and Red suffered a heartbreaking 5-4 loss to the Fightin' Engineers.
In doubles action, sophomore
Joey Keal (Louisville, Ky.) and senior
Connor Garrison (Louisville, Ky.) picked up the team's lone victory in a tiebreaker set 8-7 (7-5).
Trailing 2-1, the Panthers looked to rally as senior
Pablo Gallart (Serra, Spain) won his no. 2 singles match in dramatic fashion 6-2, 7-6 (7-4).
Garrison claimed his second win of the afternoon as part of no. 4 singles 6-2, 6-3 while teammate freshman
Alberto Castillo (Pozuelo De Alarcon, Spain) knotted the contest at 4-4 winning a crucial no. 6 singles match 6-3, 7-6 (7-2).
In an intense no. 1 singles match, Keal looked to complete the comeback but ultimately fell unsuccessful, falling 6-4, 6-7 (4-7), and 0-6.
