HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover men's soccer team welcomed Capital in non-conference action competing to a dramatic 2-2 tie on Saturday afternoon.
Hanover was paced in the contest by senior
Coghlin Kumler (Indianapolis, Ind.) and sophomore
Joao Domenici (Alphaville, Brazil) with one goal apiece.
In frame, freshman
Aaron Masri (Mexico City, Mexico) played a stealer second half picking up four key saves.
After surrendering a goal in the third minute of play the Panther offense responded. Sophomore
Joao Domenici delivered as he got a free kick from roughly 20-yards out in the 13
th minute that beat the Comet keeper, 1-1.
They entered the intermission with Capital holding a slim 6-3 edge in shots.
The second half saw HC claim their first lead of the afternoon as senior
Coghlin Kumler took a free kick pass from junior
Xander Ochsner (Floyds Knobs, Ind.) pushing Hanover to the exciting 2-1 lead.
However, Capital got the final say in the 90
th minute as they connected on a free kick that landed the contest in a 2-2 draw.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 28 when they open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action at Earlham. Game time is set for 3:30 PM.
