HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers (12-17 overall, 4-3 HCAC) walk-off sweep of Rose-Hulman on Tuesday evening in dramatic fashion. The Panthers captured game one in extra innings 8-7 before taking the nightcap in the bottom of the seventh 12-11.

GAME ONE
Hanover drew first blood in the doubleheader with Rose-Hulman as sophomore Alex Miller (Miamisburg, Ohio) picked up the RBI with a double down the right field line, 1-0. Freshman Cadence Northern (Jeffersonville, Ind.) scored later in the inning as she capitalized on a Rose-Hulman miscue.

The bottom of the third inning saw the Blue and Red tack on a run with sophomore Dani Steward (Shlebyville, Ind.) dealing the sacrifice fly to center field extending the Panther lead, 3-0.

However, Rose-Hulman responded in the sixth inning plating two runs on two hits to pull within 3-2.

The Panthers refused to be tamed as Northern doubled down the left field line in the bottom half of the inning scoring another run, 4-3.

Rose-Hulman would re-write script in the top of the seventh inning as they were able to tie the contest scoring three runs on three hits, 5-5.

Hanover was held scoreless in the bottom half of the inning forcing extras. Extra innings would be just what the Panthers need as they were able to plate two runs in the bottom of the ninth with sophomore Mallorie Fultz (Greenfield, Ind.) charting the game winning RBI.

GAME TWO
Hanover blew the game wide open in the bottom of the first inning with Carson Kruse leading the charge. The sophomore went yard to center field picking up the grand slam that propelled HC on top 4-0. The final run of the at-bat came from the stick of Fultz.

However, Rose-Hulman flipped the script in the next half inning plating eight runs on six hits and two Hanover hiccups, 8-5.

They continued to push runs across the dish adding three in the third inning for the 11-6 advantage.

Senior Kendra Hutchison (Lafayette, Ind.) led a two out rally for the Blue and Red in the bottom of the third inning using a base clearing double that cut the difference to 11-9.

The bottom of the seventh inning saw some theatricals from the Panthers as they won in dramatic fashion. After a Northern home run pulled HC within 11-10, freshman Sydnie Raisor (Campbellsburg, Ky.) knocked a RBI single that tied the contest. Sophomore Dani Steward 9Shelbyville, Ind.) picked up the walk-off RBI as she roped a ball to center field securing the sweep.

Hanover returns to action on Saturday, April 15 when they head to Anderson. First pitch is set for 1:00 PM.
