HANOVER, Ind. – The Hanover Panthers celebrated Senior Day with a sweep of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference opponent Manchester, winning the match 9-0.
Prior to the contest, Hanover celebrated senior
Jedrek Brodzki (Warsaw, Poland) and
Vincent Jaouen (Orleans, France).
The Blue and Red opened the match with a clean sweep of doubles action. The team of junior
Joey Keal (Louisville, Ky.) and junior
Charley Williams (Jeffersonville, Ind.) claimed no. 1 doubles 8-2.
Teammates, Brodzki and freshman
Abhay Singh (Ambala, India) captured the perfect 8-0 win as part of no. 2 doubles.
Rounding out doubles play was the duo of junior
Rodolfo Jacome (Guayas, Ecuador) and Vincent winning no. 3 doubles 8-1.
With the 3-0 advantage the Panthers continued to pounce as Keal remained perfect on the afternoon winning no. 1 singles 6-1, 6-0.
Brodzki celebrated senior day with a clean sweep winning no. 2 singles 6-2, 6-2.
His doubles partner, Singh captured no. 3 singles 6-0, 6-0 while Vincent won no. 4 singles 6-0, 6-3.
Rounding out the afternoon for the Blue and Red was freshman
Ilya Gromochenko (Tucson, Ariz.) winning no. 5 singles while junior
Tyler Brunty (Crawfordsville, Ind.) secured the sweep at no. 6 singles.
Hanover returns to the courts on Saturday, April 15 when they travel to Earlham. First serve is set for 12:00 PM.
