HANOVER, Ind. – Men's Golf senior Dawson Long (Paoli, Ind.) was honored as the 2023 Hanover College Athletic Department Male Athlete of the Year.
 
The senior claimed medalist honors as part of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship in 2023 earning All-Conference accolades for the second consecutive season.
 
He currently holds the Hanover 18-hole record of 66 strokes as well as the all-time 54-hole record of 216 strokes. In 2022, the senior set a Hanover record with a season low average of 73.4 strokes.
 
In his career, Dawson has claimed 10 all-tournament finishes, three of which were for medalist honors.
 
He became the first Panther to be ranked among the World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR) in 2023 and was the lone HCAC student-athlete to claim the honor.
