ANDERSON, Ind. – The Panther men's swim team hit the pool in Anderson on Friday evening to open the 2024-25 season.
 
Hanover dropped the dual meet to Anderson 130-53.
 
Sophomore Boaz Hoffer (Richmond, Ind.) charted the team's first place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke as he claimed the top spot in a time of 33.22 seconds. He also claimed the top spot in the 100-yard freestyle in a time of 1:00.74.
 
Freshman Chaze Combs (Seymour, Ind.) also had success in the pool winning the 100-yard breaststroke in a time of 1:12.41.
 
Sophomore Callum Buchanan (Franklin, Ind.) claimed second place in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58.00 seconds.
 
In the 500-yard freestyle, junior Chet Paulsen (Bloomington, Ind.) finished second touching the wall in a time of 5:56.75 while teammate sophomore Lucas Yates (Louisville, Ky.) landed second in the 50-yard butterfly. Yates also had a runner-up mark in the 100-yard IM.
 
Rounding out the meet was the 200-yard freestyle relay team of Hoffer, Yates, Combs, and sophomore Charlie Weida (Bloomington, Ind.) taking second in a time of 1:47.00.
 
Hanover returns to the pool on Saturday, Oct. 19 when they compete as part of the Division III Invite hosted by Rose-Hulman.
