HC Closes Out Regular Season with a Win Over Franklin

Franklin, IN - The HC men's soccer team picked up another road W last night against conference rival Franklin College, finishing with a regular season record of 8-5-4.

The Panthers got off the bus with a mindset of "losing is not an option", and made sure to stay focused leading up to the first whistle.

Once play began, Hanover turned on the jets, and never looked back. Right at the fourteen-minute mark, freshman forward Andrew Pavlisko would open up the scoring for the Panthers, scoring his sixth of the season, unassisted.

Other than Pavlisko's lone-goal, the first half was a battle of defensive grit, and HC was able to maintain their 1-0 lead heading into the break.

As the second half of play got under way, the Panthers were once again possessing the ball well, and playing great as a unit. About thirteen minute went by before sophomore midfielder Miles McMillen would find his way through the defense and score his third goal of the year coming off an assist from sophomore defender Louan Seveno.

With Hanover now leading 2-0 over the Grizzlies almost midway through the second, tension was starting to build. HC found another opportunity to strike, putting the nail in the coffin at the seventy-two minute mark when junior midfielder Matt Burchett buried his second goal of the season.

Franklin, all but defeated, refused to go quietly and was able to put on past the Panther goal keeper in the final minutes. The Panthers went on to take this one 3-1, finishing with a conference record of 6-1-2 in the regular season.
