Taylor Heath (Fairland, Ind.) and junior
Kady Clancy (Scottsburg, Ind.) dominated the fourth quarter for the Panthers (17-7 overall, 15-2 HCAC) as they knocked off Anderson 75-68.
Clancy led the Panther netting a career high 24 points while Heath added 19 points. Sophomore
Kylah Lawson 9Columbus, Ind.) added a double-double for the Blue and Red with 11 points and 11 rebounds.
The Ravens offense battled tough for much of the first half as the two clubs closed out the first period knotted at 19-19. In the frame, the Panthers largest lead was 17-9 following a sophomore
Lily Ernstes (North Vernon, Ind.) jumper at the 3:27 mark. Anderson responded with a 7-0 run that tied the contest.
The second quarter saw Hanover on the wrong side of a four point lead when freshman
Sammy Berman (Independence, Ky.) hit a runner in the lane that swung the contest in favor of the Panthers. However, Anderson continued to hang tough leading by as many as 36-30. The Blue and Red cut the difference to just 36-34 at the half.
The third frame saw the Panther offense heat up as a 10-0 run led by Clancy with six points gave Hanover the 44-38 advantage. Heath closed out the period for the Blue and Red with a key outburst propelling them in front 53-49.
Hanover pulled away in the final quarter as Heath and Clancy paced the offense combining for 20 Panther points. Berman helped Hanover secure the 75-68 key HCAC win with a late jumper.
Hanover returns to action on Friday, Feb. 16 when they host Mount St. Joseph as part of their regular season finale. Game time is set for 7:00 PM.
