Masi nets 100 career goals; Hanover defeats Huntingdon

HANOVER, Ind. – Senior Masi McNally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.) etched her name into the history book recording 100 career goals to help propel Hanover (1-2 overall) past Huntingdon, 14-4.

Hanover was led in the contest by Masi and senior Taylor McNally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.) with three goals apiece.

The Panthers scored early in this contest as freshman Hannah Wagner (Cincinnati, Ohio) found the back of the net in the first minute of competition. They continued to pressure frame as junior Katie Comer (Indianapolis, Ind.) entered the scores column before another Wagner strike gave HC the 3-0 advantage.

Huntingdon would net a strike at the 7:55 mark when Taylor McNally-Henriksen recorded a goal. Sophomore Abby Mensing (Parker, Colo.) extended the Hanover lead to 5-1 before Masi McNally-Henriksen began her quest for history. Masi followed that up connecting with her sister at the 2:04 point before reversing the roll moments later for the 8-1 advantage.

Huntingdon opened the second half strong recording back-to-back goals before sophomore Natalie Mullins (Greenwood, Ind.) and Taylor delt a series of blows extending the Hanover lead 10-3. Masi etched her name into the record books at the :16 second point in the third quarter recording her 100 career goal for the 11-4 difference.

The final frame saw the Blue and Red tack on three more goals as Anissa Weber found her first strike of the 2024 campaign en route to the 14-4 victory.

Hanover returns to action on Monday, Feb. 26 when they travel to Waynesburg.
