GREENVILLE, Ill. – Hanover (0-6 overall) hit the road for Greenville n Thursday afternoon dropping the double heard. Hanover fell in game one 3-1 before dropping game two 9-2.
GAME ONE
IN THE CIRCLE
Junior
Lauren Beaman (Indianapolis, Ind.) pitched six complete innings for the Blue and Red striking out three. She allowed just three runs on six hits.
AT THE DISH
Freshman
Olivia Planck (Lexington, Ky.) recorded the Panthers lone RBI as she finished the contest 1-for-3 at the plate. Freshman
Sophie Markowizc (Greenwood, Ind.) scored the team's one run in the top of the third inning.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Greenville plated two runs in the bottom of the first inning on two hits for the 2-0 advantage.
Hanover got one run back in the top of the third inning as Markowizc singled to center field before a Jade Wins single pushed her to second. She scored on the next at-bat off an RBI double by Planck, 2-1.
But Greenville got the final say scoring the game's final run in the bottom of the fourth inning, 3-1.
GAME TWO
IN THE CIRCLE
Junior
Dani Steward (Shelbyville, Ind.) got the start throwing four complete before Bearman came in, in relief. They combined for two strikeouts.
AT THE DISH
Freshman
Madi Kammer (Indianapolis, Ind.) and freshman
Haley Kiefner (Indianapolis, Ind.) charted an RBI for the Blue and Red. Kiefner led Hanover at the plate going a perfect 3-for -3.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Greenville surged ahead early in this contest capturing the 6-0 lead through three complete innings.
Hanover jumped onto the board in the fourth inning as Kiefner singled to center field scoring freshman
LauRie Harmless (Coatesville, Ind.), 6-1.
The Greenville Panthers added another run in the fourth inning and one in the fifth inning to push their difference to 8-1.
The final Hanover run came in the sixth inning off an RBI from Kammer before they surrendered the double-header.
Hanover returns to action on Saturday, March 2 when they take on Hope as part of the Millikin Tournament. First pitch is set for 9:00 AM
