Hanover fell in nail-bitter at Spalding

LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Hanover (4-7 overall, 1-1 HCLC) Panthers found themselves locked in a Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference battle at Spalding, surrendering the contest 15-12.

INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
Hanover was led by senior Masi McNally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.) with a team-high five goals. Junior Katie Comer (Indianapolis, Ind.) added five goals and an assist.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
The nail-biting contest had you reaching for popcorn from the opening draw control as the Panthers were able to surge ahead 2-0 in the opening frame. But Spalding responded at the 10:35 mark before Comer and senior Taylor McNally-Henriksen (Zionsville, Ind.) delt a pair of goals, 4-1.

The Golden Eagles began to soar in the second frame recording six straight goals to flip the script in their favor, 8-5.

Sophomore Natalie Mullin (Greenwood, Ind.) found the back of the net in the second quarter cutting the difference to 8-6 before a three goal Panther outburst knotted it 9-9.

Hanover found themselves playing catch-up for much of the third frame as the two teams exchanged goals with Spalding ultimately leading 12-11.

However, with 4:38 remaining in the contest Spalding was able to use a pair of back-to-back goals to push the contest out of reach, 15-12.
