HANOVER, Ind. – An early deficit on Wednesday afternoon ultimately doomed the Panthers' chances in the opening round of the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Tennis Tournament, falling to the Grizzlies of Franklin 8-1.

The struggles began early for the Blue and Red as they were unable to find a rhythm in doubles play falling 3-0. The team of sophomore
Mario Bravo Castaneda (Leon, Mexico) and senior
Jaya Sivesh (Nagercoil, India) competed to an 8-4 decision while both no. 1 doubles and no. 2 doubles succumbed 8-3.
SINGLES ACTION
Bravo Castaneda attempted to steal the momentum as he was able to secure the Panthers first win at no. 4 singles 6-3, 6-4.
But Franklin remained poise securing the match 8-1 behind a strong singles performance.
