BLUFFTON, Ohio – Hanover (12-25 overall) concluded the regular season on Saturday evening at Bluffton. The Panthers claimed game one 13-6 but fell in the night cap 7-4.
GAME ONE
IN THE CIRCLE
Junior
Lauren Beaman (Indianapolis, Ind.) claimed the win in the circle throwing a complete game with seven strikeouts and no walks. With the win, she claimed her ninth win of the season.
AT THE PLATE
Bluffton claimed the 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning before the Hanover attack erupted.
Junior
Alex Miller (Miamisburg, Ohio) led the scoring in the second inning recording a two RBI single, 2-2. Freshman
Olivia Planck (Lexington, Ky.) pushed Hanover in front with a walk before a wild pitch saw the Panthers capture the 4-2 difference.
The third inning would see junior
Mal Fultz (Greenfield, Ind.) collect an RBI with a double to right center, 5-2. Sophomore
Sydnie Raisor (Campbellsburg, Ky.) used a single to right field extending the Hanover lead, 6-2.
Hanover added insurance runs in the fifth inning as Fultz capitalized on a Bluffton error before a Planck triple propelled Hanover to the commanding 10-3 lead.
The Blue and Red secured the win in the seventh inning as Beaman tripled to help secure the 13-6 victory.
GAME TWO
PLAY-BY-PLAY
Bluffton claimed the 5-0 advantage using a one run second inning and a four run third inning to try and tame the Panthers.
However, Hanover was able to plate a run in the top of the fourth inning as Raisor singled to center field. Miller and sophomore
Jade Wims (Indianapolis, Ind.) added runs later in the inning both drawing a walk, 5-3.
The Beavers would add an insurance run in the fifth inning and one in the sixth inning securing the HCAC doubleheader split. Hanover made one final push in the seventh inning as junior
Carson Kruse (fort Branch, Ind.) recorded an RBI double adding one final run.
