HANOVER, Ind. – Hanover College is pleased to announce the promotion of alum
Brady Wells to Director of Cross Country and Track and Field stated Tuesday afternoon by Vice President for Athletics, Lynn Hall.
Wells will oversee all recruiting aspects and day-to-day operations of the cross-country and track and field programs.
"I am excited to build on the outstanding foundation that is in place for our Cross Country and Track & Field programs," stated Wells. "We will continue to strive for individual and team progression in all aspects of our program."
The 2024 campaign will see Wells in his eighth season with the Blue and Red. Under his direction, Hanover has won a pair of Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference Cross Country titles, as well as multiple Most Valuable Runner accolades. For his efforts, Wells was named the HCAC Coach of the Year in 2023 and 2020.
He continues to raise the programs to new heights, mentoring three United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Scholar All-Americans including NCAA Qualifier and the program's first-ever HCAC Individual Champion, Jacob Hedrick.
On the track, Brady has been a key part of three HCAC Staff of the Year honors and two HCAC Women's Team Championships. He also helped guide the 2023 HCAC Distance Runner of the Year and the Hanover Most Outstanding Senior Female Athlete,
Amberleigh Sorensen.
The Panther Cross Country teams are set to open the 2024 campaign on Saturday, Sept. 7 with the Franklin Grizzly Invitational.
