HANOVER, Ind. – The Panthers dropped the Hanover College Tournament Championship to Saint Mary's 88-80 on Saturday afternoon, moving to 4-1 overall on the season.

Senior
Alexis Wines led the Panthers charting a double-double with 24 points and 10 rebounds. She also added three, three-pointers and a perfect 7-for-7 mark at the free throw line.
Senior
Kaitlyn Lorenzi dominated the boards, pulling down a game-high 17 rebounds. Junior
Sammy Berman tallied 15 points while Amya Ball had 13 total points.
Rounding out the scoring for the Blue and Red was senior
Lily Ernstes with 10 points.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Hanover outscored the Belles in the first frame 28-18, leading the surge was Berman as the Panthers jumped out ahead 6-0. The scoring frenzy continued as Wines hit shots all over the floor. The senior point guard finished with 11 first quarter points.
The second quarter saw the Blue and Red lead by as many as 43-27, getting scores from Berman and Ernstes. However, the Belles staged a late quarter comeback to tie the game 47-47.
Despite the early struggles in the second half, the Panthers continued to battle, with Bass making her presence felt on both ends of the floor. She recorded a steal at the 9:43 mark and drew a foul, demonstrating her aggressive defensive pressure.
The Belles continued to apply the pressure, frustrating the Panther offense in the fourth frame. Saint Mary's was able to force 22 Hanover turnovers en route to an 88-80 victory.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 2 when they open Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference action with Berea.
