HOW IT HAPPENED
The opening frame was very competitive as the two team's exchanged points for several minutes when a Wines three-pointer gave Hanover the slight edge. However, Manchester was able to outscore the Panthers 19-17.
The second quarter saw the Spartans build on their lead as an old fashioned three-point play put the lead at double digits, 33-23. Hanover made a late run getting jumpers from junior
Sammy Berman and sophomore
Amya Bass to enter the intermission trailing 36-30.
After some halftime adjustments, Hanover and Manchester went shot for shot. Wines continued to be the hot hand for the Panthers as she connected from three-point at the midway point pulling the Blue and Red within 46-39. Manchester clung to a 51-45 advantage entering the fourth quarter.
The final period was controlled by Manchester, scoring 14 straight points en route to a 65-48 difference. Manchester finished the contest shooting 42 percent from the floor with 10 made three-pointers.
Hanover returns to action on Wednesday, Dec. 17 when they travel Anderson. Tip is scheduled for 3:00 PM.
