ANGOLA, Ind. – Junior
Sammy Berman and the Hanover Panthers (8-3 overall) stunned the Trine Thunder on Sunday afternoon in overtime, 49-46.

Berman led the scoring for the Blue and Red, netting 16 points with five rebounds and perfect 4-for-4 mark from the free throw line, including the game-winner in overtime.

Alexis Wines added 12 points while senior
Kaitlyn Lorenzi dominated the boards with a team-high 11 rebounds. Freshman
Emerson Vlcan continued to dominate pulling in 10 rebounds, nine of which were defensive boards.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Trine, receiving votes in the latest D3hoops.com poll, held a minimum edge for most of the contest as they exchange buckets with the Panthers. Berman was key in the teams success as she hit a three-pointer with just over two minutes left in the first frame to give HC a slight 12-11 advantage.
However, the Thunder remained one step ahead responding to the Hanover attack with a methodical approach of their own. In the second quarter they led by as much as 20-16 when a pair of Berman free-throws knotted the score.
The second half saw the Panthers make a move. Senior
Lily Ernstes netted a layup in the lane that gave HC a 30-27 difference. The offense remained patient, going perfect from the free throw line to enter the final period of regulation in front 35-33.
In a low scoring fourth quarter, Vlcan was key getting the quarters final bucket at the charity stride to force a 42-42 overtime decision. Berman handled the rest calling bank on a right side three-pointer to propel Hanover to the 49-46 victory.
