Men's Soccer Clears Asbury in Second Half

Wilmore, KY - Hanover College's men's soccer team traveled to Asbury University today to take on the 5-1-0 Eagles in a non-conference match-up. The Panthers came in at 2-2-2, outscoring opponents 11-7 overall, generating around 10 shots per game.

The Panthers and the Eagles drew even through the entirety of the first half on the score board despite HC's lack of aggression in the offensive thrid of the field. Senior goalkeeper Rodrigo Gutierrez Olvera Gonzalez saved the five (out of seven) shots on frame from Asbury, Hanover lead in corners taken at 2-1, and they were on the better half of a 5-1 foul split.

In the second half, Hanover caught fire and rolled to a 4-0 victory behind goals from sophomore forward Andrew Pavlisko (assisted by sophomore forward Bandon Elizarraras), senior defender McLain Barber (assisted by sophomore midfielder Cole Hubert), junior midfielder Miles McMillen (assisted by senior defender Brandon Seabaugh), and a penalty kick in the ninetieth minute scored by sophomore forward Brandon Elizarraras.

HC moves to 3-2-2 heading into their match-up at home this Friday, September 19th, against the Wabash College Little Giants who sit at 3-3-0. Kickoff is set for 4:00PM at the Hanover College Soccer Complex.
